Today we celebrate the beautiful Connie Said.
Connie joined us a few years ago as a Nutrition client with Coach Terri. During this time frame Terri was able to establish what foods Connie’s body was not a fan of. Together they were able to establish a better understanding of macro nutrients and what benefitted Connie’s health and wellbeing the most. More than anything, Connie was able to step into the doors of a gym, and was introduced to what we now call her second Home.
Connie first started group fitness training 2-3 classes a week. As time went on and her confidence has excelled Connie is now in for 5,6,7 classes a week if not more! At the end of last year Connie and I picked up our journey working together one on one in Personal Training.
Though Connie had come so far way nutrition and training, she still had immense doubt in herself which we discovered streamed into other aspects of her life. When working together Connie refused anything heavier than the weight she was working with as she became comfortable with where she could easily perform the exercises without failure. Connie heavily doubted herself in that regard but with encouragement and the courage to try new things and surprise herself, Connie has come to smash out her goals out on the training floor.
Connie has achieved so many goals since beginning her journey at Terrific Fitness. Connie has successfully lost over 18kg through changes in food and movement patterns. Recently Connie pushed 95kg on the Prowler when a mere few months ago she refused to take on anything more than a 2-3kg weight from fear of failing. Most importantly Connie has blossomed into a more confident, stronger and educated lady and we could not be more proud of her and all of her achievements thus far. Well done!

Connie is one of the most coachable and incredible women I have ever had the pleasure to work with! I was very happy when she agreed to work with me back in late 2019 in Nutrition Coaching. She had a world of health issues that were a direct result of an unfavourable diet and lifestyle, and I knew I could help her improve.
Connie loves structure and does very well with following a plan. So, when I gave her the action plan for Nutrition Coaching she took it and ran with it. She followed the plan to the T! Not only was she dropping weight, but she was also improving her health and starting to feel amazing! Her energy levels went up and her mood improved within just weeks.
As we rolled into 2020 her hunger to improve grew, as you will read from both Jamie and Connie, regarding her training progress.
Now in 2022, Connie bares no resemblance to that woman that approached me in October 2019, anymore than a butterfly resembles a caterpillar. But that’s the level of Connie’s transformation. She is not a different person. She is the woman she was always designed to be but didn’t know how. She has unleashed the best version of herself.
Connie, you are an incredible woman, a wonderful mother, and an amazing role model for all women out there! You are the epitome of the word ‘transformation’! You have evolved in mind, body and soul, and are reaping the rewards as a result.
Congratulations Connie and Coach Jamie, on your sensational journey and results! I couldn’t be more proud of you both if I tried!

Here is Connie’s story in her words:
“I came to know of Terrific Fitness after my daughter Rebecca Said started strength training with Terri in 2018. September 2019, at a social event, I met Terri for the first time. I felt at ease speaking to her about how I was feeling on the inside and out. How my cholesterol was so high, always feeling bloated, tired, and basically not happy with myself. There was something about the way Terri made me feel, that I took her up on meeting with her and since that day, I have never looked back.
I was always afraid of gyms. I have tried a few in my early years but never liked them. I could never keep up with the instructor and felt out of place. So, I chose to only do nutrition coaching. It was the best decision I ever made and such an eye opener. With the aid of Nutrition Coaching, I discovered I was gluten and lactose intolerant which was why I had so much inflammation in my body causing me to always feel tired, bloated and my cholesterol so high even when taking medication.
The opportunity to do 1-month unlimited group classes was available and I asked my daughter if I should I join? She basically said go for it. Not once did I feel uncomfortable, judged, or looked at because I couldn’t keep up. TF is a gym like no other, we all say this because it’s true. The coaches accommodate personal injuries, disabilities and understand each person’s level of training. I love the way the coaches walk around correcting technique; this is something other gyms don’t do. The ongoing support by the coaches and friendships with other gym members make TF a family and a warm environment when you walk through the studio doors.
I also love that Terri has created a member’s education website for us to refer to, which is packed full of videos with information on nutrition, lifestyle, and training, that educate us, and help us achieve our goals both mentally and physically.
My successes since joining TF are:
- Self confidence
- Becoming stronger both physically and mentally
- Being happy with the new me
- Loving that I can basically do anything I put my mind to
- Not craving junk food and making bad food choices
- Understanding food labels so I can make better choices
- Eliminating caffeine at night and understanding how a good night’s sleep helps both mentally and physically
- Being able to do my job with confidence, has led me to expand my business
- Meeting so many wonderful gym members
At times, the coaches know my abilities better than I know myself and this is something I love about them. They encourage me to always strive to do better.
I have been on yo-yo diets since my teens, always looking for a quick fix. At times I succeed but only for a short time and then I would put all the weight on plus more.
Prior to joining TF, I was close to hitting 90Kg and I had to do something to change my life. I have overcome this challenge by losing the weight and keeping it off.
I love that my confidence within my self is better than 3 years ago.
I love that I have been able to keep off the weight.
I love that I can physically do things which I never dreamed of doing before.
I enjoy classes which challenge me to do better.
I love the way my body feels and looks. Looking back at my life before TF makes me sad at what I had become. The way I looked and felt. I was kidding myself when I looked in the mirror and thought I looked good.
My journey with TF so far has been in 3 stages.
The first journey was nutrition coaching, and it was the best decision I ever made. I was no longer searching for a “quick fix or miracle pill”. I learnt to eat “normal” healthy fresh food. And I feel fantastic. I am not hungry, not craving pasta, bread, cheese, junk food, chips etc. like I did in the past and the weight and fat is disappearing.
My second journey started when I joined group fitness classes. At first, I was only doing 2-3 classes per week, but as time went by and my confidence progressed in the training techniques I was hungry for more. For months I was doing 3 classes a day 4 days a week and I loved it. These consisted of THT, Core, Upper body Blitz, Boxing and Luscious Legs. But I was still hungry for more….
My third journey was when I started PT (personal training) and strength training. This too wasn’t something I ever considered prior TF.
I joined classes like DB Strong-U, Warrior and Boot Camp. My body can endure lifting more than my mind thinks it’s capable of. I thank Coach Jamie for trusting in me and understanding my abilities and for pushing me to achieve my goals.
