This month’s profile of the month is our beautiful Connie Said. Connie is a Nutrition Coaching client who reached out a few months ago finally having had enough of how she was feeling.
Connie is like nobody I have ever met before in the 10 years working as a PT. She brings a whole new freshness to life. She is an open book ready to absorb anything she is taught, asking lots of questions so can learn more and more. I absolutely LOVE questions. It’s how you learn. I always encourage my clients to ask as many questions as possible. When you learn something you can’t un-learn it. It’s how long lasting changes are made and how yo-yo dieting stops. Education is paramount to losing excess fat and keeping it off long term.
I am truly honored to be a part of Connie’s journey. To see the changes in her have made my heart sing. The physical aesthetic changes are a bonus. The best changes are the ones in her health, blood tests, her ability to cope with life is better and she smiles now. A real smile. The kind that starts at the hair line and travels to the eyes and then the lips. She smiles with her everything! You can’t beat that.
Connie has dropped 9.7kg in 13 weeks. She has dropped 2 levels of visceral fat and has increased her hydration by 3.3%. There has also been a drop in her basal metabolic age by a year. Now don’t forget, Connie is a nutrition client. She doesn’t train with me. In fact up until a few weeks until Connie wasn’t training at all. She now does a few training sessions at home of about 20-30 mins each. Connie is a walking testament of how important nutrition is to health and fat loss. Exercise is very important too however it is not the be-all and end-all of life transformations.
I am so proud and inspired by this incredible woman who just a beautiful magical soul. Connie it is an absolute pleasure, honor and a blessing to work with you my love. You are truly a unique soul.
Here is Connie story in her words:
“My life before starting nutrition couching with Terrific Fitness was eating junk food, a lot of bread, pasta and cheese. Boy, did I like my cheese. For years my cholesterol was high and I was on medication. My thinking was, ‘well I’m taking the meds, so I can still eat unhealthy. I’ll be fine.’ My body was changing for the worse, I was putting on weight and it didn’t click to me, that my body was giving me signs that it needed attention and change. I felt bloated, my stomach was hard, my arms and legs felt hard too.
I came to a point in my life that I had to do something. I was overweight, always felt tired and I had to do something about my cholesterol.
I met Terri for the first time October 2019 at a social event. I briefly spoke to her about what I was feeling and the fact my cholesterol was so high. To be honest, I was really embarrassed about myself and the way I looked. There was something about the way Terri made me feel once we spoke that I took her up on her suggestion to see her.
The 2 week boot camp was the best thing I ever done when it came to nutrition. I was eating “normal” healthy fresh food, no shakes, no “miracle diet pill” nothing. And I felt fantastic. I wasn’t hungry, wasn’t craving pasta, bread, cheese, junk food, chip etc. like I did in the past and the weight and fat started to disappear
I started my first day of boot camp on the 11/11/2019
Well, only 5 weeks in and I learnt a lot about nutrition and how food effects my body, my cholesterol went down from 7.2 to 4.4 and off the meds (doctor’s expression…..priceless). I found out I am lactose and gluten intolerant and the bloating, hard stomach was the result. Today, my stomach isn’t hard and bloated. My skin feels soft and healthier. Looking back at my life before starting nutrition coaching with Terrific Fitness, makes me sad at what I had become. What I looked like and how I felt. I was kidding myself when I looked in the mirror and thought I looked good.
[Today] I feel really good, happy and healthy and love the way my body feels and looks and to think I did it without any artificial help (pills)
I would, and I already have recommended family to see Terri. From what I have experienced and learnt about nutrition is that what goes in your mouth will depend on how you feel. Without that knowledge, you are doing more harm to yourself than you think. Thank you Terri for changing my life.” – Connie Said, Mill Park
