This week we are celebrating the legendary Maree Royston. Maree is one of our local champions, she walked into Terrific Fitness joining our 28 Day Kickstarter and is now a regular on the group fitness floor! Maree has always been able to put all of her energy into any and all classes but her strengths go beyond her physical capabilities. Maree has recently been working hard to overcome her Tennis Elbow which has been limiting her movements in and out of the studio however no injury can stop this women! Maree’s shift in mindset, enabling her look past her injury, has allowed her continuously train and progress throughout any and all of her classes she participates in. Working around any injury is difficult, however through personal programming, Maree has continued to excel in all of her classes working on building her strength. Classes that have helped keep Maree moving and growing including Tabatta HIIT, DB Strong U, KB Strong U etc. Keep up the incredible work Maree!

I’ve only had the pleasure of training Maree a handful of times, but she has certainly stood out as an absolute little powerhouse! Working around her injury, pushes herself and challenges herself, and still manages to have a stack load of fun whilst she is doing it. Maree has come a long way in her strength and fitness; however my favorite progress has come in her mindset. When she first joined TF Maree often stated, ‘I’m here to support my friend.’ 6 months on, Maree is now here for herself! Maree, you are an absolute blast to train! Keep up the amazing work love!

Here is Maree’s story in her words:
“Before Terrific Fitness I did a bit of running and walking to try and regain some fitness after having kids, (worked up to a 10km run), however it obviously wasn’t building any strength. Most of my time was taken up with kids and household duties- like most mums here!
Sandra was my walking bestie. We spoke about going to a gym but to be honest I’m not a traditional gym person. But being the good friend she is, she convinced me to come along for the 28-day trial, and we both haven’t looked back since.
The support from trainers is amazing, they always offer options to each exercise to accommodate injuries- and the encouragement/laughter helps me push through each set and class!
In between work and kids sports I train in the studio twice and one virtual class a week.
I’ve gained a lot more strength/muscle mass, but mentally it’s ‘my’ time and has been so beneficial to my overall health.
If anyone is sitting on the fence about joining, I would say give it a go. Everyone I have met in class from the day I started has been so friendly and welcoming. One of the best decisions made was to join Terrific Fitness!” – Maree Royston
